2018 XR Day speakers

  Dan Miller , AR / VR Evangelist, Unity Technologies  Dan was first introduced to Unity in college and worked on indie game projects until landing his first job developing mobile games published by DeNA. After spending several years in game development, he became interested in virtual reality and began developing small VR projects. Soon after, he worked as a VR Programmer for Colopl Ni on multiple titles - including Cyberpong - which has been featured in VR arcades around the world. He is excited to continue working with new and emergent technology and looks forward to helping others create unique, compelling experiences in the virtual and augmented reality space.   LinkedIn

Samantha Raja, UX Engineer, Google Daydream

Samantha Raja studied Digital Media Design at Penn and graduated in 2010. She was a Technical Director at Pixar Animation Studios for six years, specializing in hair and clothing simulation. In 2016, she switched gears to work as a UX Engineer on the Daydream team at Google, where she helps to prototype user interaction flows in VR.

  Angel Muniz , Director of Immersive Art, PracticalVR  Angel currently works in the Immersive Art & Experience team at PracticalVR, where she develops utilities and applications for MR & AR. She started out in Production and Post, BFA in Media Arts & Animation for 3D and Game Development, and interned at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, where she made hard surface props for pre-visualizations on future missions. Angel also works under a National Science Foundation grant as a Co-Primary Investigator, developing a new game art and animation program at Alabama Coastal College.  On the side, Angel gives talks to demystify the art process and workflow principles for developers. She has spoken at Microsoft's HoloAcademy,  Immersive Tech Conference, University of Houston Computer Science, IGDA, and The Art Institute. This fall, she will be speaking at the HoloLens Developer's Summit on this topic.   LinkedIn

  Emre Tanırgan , Prototype Developer, Magic Leap  Emre currently works as a prototype developer in the gesture recognition team at Magic Leap, building novel gesture experiences and interactions that will be brought to life on the company’s mixed reality headset. His first experience with VR was at Disney Imagineering R&D, where he helped the design and development of Disney theme parks through the use of emerging technologies.  Over the past 2 years, Emre has been working on Paradiddle, a VR drumming application that lets users practice their drumming skills without the limitations of the real world. Paradiddle won an Oculus Launch Pad Scholarship in 2016, and is currently available on major VR platforms through Steam Early Access. During his senior year, Emre helped develop DORA, a telepresence robot that could be remotely operated by a user wearing a VR headset, which in turn mimicked the user’s head movements.   As a Penn CGGT and DMD alum, Emre likes to think about non-gaming applications of XR technologies.
